About us
About 3 years ago, due to a significant personal loss & heart ship, I needed something to keep my mind busy to help me cope.
I started to throw myself into work, but it is not the correct solution….
Then I started doing things I love and enjoy, like woodwork, attending courses for resin projects and then started to enjoy myself with keeping my hands and “mind” busy….
While visiting family in Cape Town, one of my relatives gave me the idea to open a gift shop, to share my hobby, turned dream, into a reality and that it will grow from strength to strength.
Being situated in a town where there is not enough exposure, I knew the best solution will be, going online.
Today I am proud to announce that with a lot of help from family and friends this dream became a REALITY!!
Why Squirrels & Acorns
Why name the store Squirrels & Acorns, you may ask…
Some time ago I visited the Kgalagadi, Botswana. There were a lot of squirrels around our campsite. Personally, I think it’s one of the cutest small animal’s! But with very little exposure…
Therefore, the name Squirrels & Acorns
A very good friend of my mother designed (Hand Sketched) the logo for me and I am very proud to be able to use this one-of-a-kind logo.
(Trust all of you will like it as much as I do!)
Going Forward
After a lot of research, sourcing for great suppliers with quality products at the best prices, I am proud to launch this “ONLINE-STORE”!!
As a team, we enjoyed every moment of this process – from personally selecting, photographing and packaging of each item and now we are ready to share the joy!
